Isle of Doom
(currently in development)
,A woman is lost.
Children are rebuilding their world as a threat looms.
They find each other and embark on a journey of loss and hope in a dystopic utopia.
The Isle of Doom.
An intergenerational theatre show about loss, trauma and finding hope in the aftermath. Creator/Performer April Albert and 8 children, ages 10-14, from international backgrounds weave together a tale of building worlds and utopias amongst the dystopic.
Part auto-fictional storytelling, part theatrical devising, part conversation. How do we connect our stories and our children to what is happening around the world as patriarchal and capitalistic systems of power are collapsing and the climate crisis is billowing smoke into our cities? Where do we find hope and healing for the next generation?
Created and Performed by April Albert, Jule Boyle, Noémie and Maxime Leroux, Leonard and Cameron Freitag, Matilda and Magda Piechutowska and Jonah McIver.
Facilitating Artist: Emily Tomlins
